Getting things started...
As Tim's wife, I have so many memories, but I'll choose only one to share here and to get things started.
When we got married... or wait. When we found out we were pregnant... no... when we first moved to Illinois...or Kansas... hmmm. Yeah, choosing one is difficult, but here goes: Tim and I had been married a little less than a year, when he came home from work one day and said that he'd been approached about traveling to D.C. for a short stint of work. He couldn't believe someone would ask him to do that and think that he would want to! It was completely outside his realm of belief or comfort. However, I thought it was an exciting opportunity for him. When I mentioned that it could be a good thing and that we didn't have any reasons keeping us from it, I was amazed at how quickly he changed his mind, I think because he thought it would make me happy. We went and were there for about 4 months, had a great time sightseeing on the weekends, learning new things when we had free time and eating new foods. It was a great experience. He doesn't regret it at all. What still amazes me about Tim, is that now, just like then, he wants me to be happy. The fun part? I want him to be happy too. We're a good pair.
