Happy Birthday Tim!

Marilee and I wish we could be there for you today.  My excuse is decent. It's my brithday party day too :-)

It's been great having you as a friend all these years from the early days of OM to Munich to Wroclaw to now.  I really love remembering our visit to Wroclaw sampling their local goodies, seeing the smiling Polish faces and seeing some of the sites.

I recall you were a lot braver than I when it came to buying their sausages in the open air festival that day.  It was awesome to have you there co-teaching with me.  They were the first engineers in Poland I know of learning about TDD for Embedded.  Here you are getting ready before the room fills...

Tim, you've been an incredible friend to our whole family, our kids included.  It has always meant the world to me to see you wrestling with and loving on my kids!  That's one of the things I really miss since moving away from Chicago.  I also miss your cooking, salsa making, computer troubleshooting, deep theological comments in Sunday school, and your sweet guitar playing.  Looking forward to the celebration of 50 years!!

What can I tell about my dear brother, Tim?  Hmmm. Life with him was never boring!  In his kindergarten picture he has a scowl on his face.  Why? Because, "I lost my smile."  At dinner one night, as Dad was encouraging him to have more bean soup, he announced, "I'm full of beans!" (It's true, you are, Tim!)  And there was the day we were all gathered around the table and he literally fell sideways off his chair...in slow motion! Stories of his adventures would literally have us rolling on the floor as we reached our teens.  Some day he will need to share with everyone what happened to all the cheese balls from Hickory Farms at the mall. But one of the best memories I have of my brother is 'yard surfing' at the parents' house. One of us drove the golf cart over bumps and hills while the other stood on the back and struggled to maintain their balance. It's a wonder we have survived, but we sure had a good time.  I'm proud to call you brother, only wish we didn't live so far apart!  Love you, man!

As a fellow guitarist, coffee connoisseur, chili-lover, and hack theologian (amongst other things), I have come to appreciate the finer things in life with Tim.  He has forgotten more about the blues than I'll ever know and everything I know about making a kick-butt salsa is directly from him.  More important than all of that is he is a good, genuine, caring friend.  We can jam with guitars on our laps and talk about life, without feeling eyes of judgmentalism.  It's a shame that since we've moved away from the Chicago area, I have yet to find a friend like Tim.  I probably won't.  He's a one-in-a-million kind of guy and I'm a better guy for having known him.  Happy Birthday, and here's to fifty more!

Hot Spices, Food, Laughter, Music, Proverbs & Blessings

Tim is a friend of many pictures, not only that he is a software transformer or an agile coach, but there are so much to draw and write about Tim.  We enjoy so much of his HOT SPICES and sauces. Our favorite was the ground roasted habanero. We love this spice with our spaghetti, lasagna and BBQ. We enjoy his company and his family every gathering at his home with so much great FOOD.  Our kids always have a great time with him and call him their uncle Tim. You will always hear our children’s LAUGHTER and so much excitement around Uncle Tim. He never runs out of jokes or stories to share or even tricks and treats. Uncle Tim is so missed by Zeek, Emerald and Rinnah.  He is such an inspiration when we hear his MUSIC plays.  We enjoy and love every worship services and special songs of his guitar strumming. Our family will never forget his words of wisdom. We’re guessing his favorite book in the Bible is PROVERBS. His examples and illustrations of life's lessons would be similar to the book of Proverbs or even quote some passages. Tim is a BLESSING to our family. He touched our lives and he will always be a part of us. Tim, our family loves you with the love of the Lord. Happy Birthday and may you always be Jesus Christ’s instrument as you’re always have been.

A very long time ago

So I met Tim a very long time ago at a garage band practice and we hit it off right away. He was then and still is a great player. We became good friends and roomates and annoyed the hell out of our neighbors but we had a lot of good times. Tim taught me alot and always had sound advice (well maybe the fireworks weren't a good idea...) I'm proud to call him my friend cause lets face it, Otter makes everthing better.
